Description

Added by Brent Susinger

If you love to kayak in Glacier, this adventure is for you! You'll be treated with incredible views! This is the third largest lake in the park and is not commonly visited since it's a more remote area. But be careful- the water is freezing cold.

The lake is located in the northwestern portion of Glacier National Park, about 32.5 miles from the west entrance and 30 miles from the Canadian Border. From the little town of Polebridge, it is 6 miles north along an unpaved road. The lake is 7 miles long and approx .5 miles wide. Access to the lake is just beyond the campground. More info on the lake can be found here.

Kayak Bowman Lake, Glacier NP Reviews

I'd recommend getting here early. The water (on calm days) is like glass and if you're lucky enough, you might just be one of the only people out on the water. That being said if you can't make it for sunrise, the lake is still an amazing place to visit.

Bowman is an awesome lake for kayaking, but also for fishing and camping as well. Highly recommended in the north west portion of GNP.

I love Glacier National Park and this lake is by far one of the best. Quiet remote area with gorgeous views!!!
