To hike the Rocky Point Trail during the busy season (late May through mid-September), you’ll need:

A timed entry reservation for the Lake McDonald Corridor if you plan to enter between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Rocky Point is on the southen side of Lake McDonald. Easy to reach without much traffic. Its a short walk to the lake and you can even gi for a swim if you like. The water is surprisingly comfortable in August. Watch for Bald Eagles.
