Catamaran to Grand River Waterfalls

A joyful adventure to a tropical paradise
Mauritius is a tropical island in the Indian ocean. The island is surrounded by a riff making its coastline an amazing place to be. The waters are generally calm as the riff invisibly protects the coastline and once you dive, they are full of marine life. So what better way to explore the island taking a catamaran and spend the day exploring its coast, diving at sea and visiting the paradise nearby island of Ile aux Cerfs with its impressive white sand beaches?
We took a catamaran from Trou D'Eau at the central east side of the island. The catamaran sailed along the shore line heading south until it met the Grand River. We boarded a speed boat that took us upstream the river in an amazing tropical forest environment (and huge tropical bats flying above our heads!) until we came close to the nice waterfalls.
Getting back to the catamaran we got diving equipment and dived at the lagoon. I have never dived in a sea so full of colorful marine life!
Next stop was Ile aux Cerfs. This is a small island very close to the shore of Mauritius. It is a small paradise with pristine waters, white sand beaches and tropical vegetation. An amazing way to relax, enjoy the beach and the sun.
If you want to do something similar, there are multiple tour operators that offer similar day trips. I cannot remember which one specifically we used, as it was arranged by our hotel. Although I marked on the map that the starting point of the adventure is Trou D'Eau, all tour operators will come and pick you up from your hotel, so you dont need to worry how you will get there.
You just need to make sure that you have a swimming suite and a towel and more importantly, sun protection (sunglasses and sunscreen).
