With crystal clear azure water, white sand, and towering rocky cliffs, you won't want to miss a visit to Malta's Blue Lagoon!
Located on the small, rugged island of Comino, Blue Lagoon is definitely worth a day trip during your visit to Malta. The attraction may seem like a tourist trap, and once you get off the ferry, be prepared for masses of tourists and food trucks. However, walk past the food trucks, climb a bit of rocky ground, and you will be rewarded with the stunning Blue Lagoon.
The lagoon itself is an expanse of clear, strikingly blue water surrounded by rocky cliffs. You can swim or snorkel through the calm waters of the lagoon lagoon, and climb on the cliffs. You can also walk around to a few other nearby bays for a change of scenery. Be sure to swim across the lagoon, and then swim through the cave on the other side.
Because the Blue Lagoon is located on the island of Comino, you need to take a ferry from the main island to Comino. A company called Comino Ferries Co-op will take you to the lagoon and back for about 10e round trip, and their dock is located about 1km from the Cirkewwa Gozo Ferry terminal. The ferry is easy, and will allow you to see some of the scenery on the way too. You can also book a tour on many party boats that head to the island each day.
