Visit Malta's Blue Grotto

Malta has a stunning Blue Grotto of its own. Don't miss this massive arch formation with vibrant blue water!
The Blue Grotto is a must when visiting Malta. This giant sea arch is impressive, and the water below is strikingly blue. The Blue Grotto is located in the southeast coast of the main island of Malta, a short distance off the fishing town of Wied iż-Żurrieq.
To see the Grotto, you have two options. There is a little lookout on the side of the road where you can either get off the bus or pull over to see picturesque views of the entire arch. This pullout is the best place to get a view of the grotto in its entirety.
You can also continue down the road by car or foot to the village of Wied iż-Żurrieq where for about 8 euros, you can hop in a little boat and go beneath the arch and the surrounding caverns. The boat ride is a bit touristy, but it's fun, and you can really get a sense of how large the arch is.
There is also a great swimming spot next to the boat area with clear water and lots of fish, so bring your mask and snorkel!
