Camp at Dennison Park in Ojai Valley

Ojai, California

Description

Added by Basak Prince

Fantastic views, far away from the crowds, super clean bathrooms, and very close to the town. And a spot for a hammock.

Great little campsite very close to the town of Ojai.

My discovery of this gem was totally coincidental. I was trying to book a hotel room in Ojai; however, that particular weekend all the rooms that were within my budget were sold out. Instead of giving up, I looked for alternative options and found this little campsite halfway between Ojai and Happy Valley. Since I love camping, this was a great alternative for my weekend plans.

I went to the Ventura County website (https://www.venturaparks.org/) to reserve a spot; however, if you like to reserve a spot online for this campsite you have to do it two weeks in advance. Since I was looking for a spot for the upcoming weekend, I decided to take my changes and drove to the campsite early enough to secure a spot. When I reached to the campsite, there were still few spots available. I filled out the registration slip and placed my fee in the envelope. After setting up my tent and my hammock (yes bring your hammock since there are lot of trees to set up one), I headed out to town for dinner since it was only about 10 minutes away. After dinner, I came to my campsite, put the fire on and enjoyed a bottle of wine I purchased from the town. The views and the sky were amazing.
