Snowmobile at Hope Valley Sno-Park
Markleeville, California
Description
Added by Samantha Weald
On your next trip to Tahoe, take a few hours to explore Hope Valley Sno-Park - an amazing destination outside South Lake Tahoe for snowshoeing, snowmobiling, backcountry skiing, and snow play.
Book a snowmobile trip through a local adventure center (we love Lake Tahoe Adventures) or bring your own gear. Don't forget to grab permits ahead of time if you come on your own (more info here.)
Drive (from anywhere) to Highway 88 and the snow park entrance is on the south side of the highway.
The snow park has a lot of flat terrain, making it a great spot for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and family snow play. When we went snowmobiling the guides said they often take their own snowmobiles out and head into the miles of public mountain trails to backcountry snowboard and ski. If you do want to head out on your own, make sure you check the winter safety tips beforehand.
Enjoy!
