Description

Kyles Landing is a beautiful, remote campground directly adjacent to the Buffalo River with a long list of things to do, including cliff jumping, rock climbing and kayaking. Just 6 miles away from Jasper, Arkansas, the campground has 33 sites available on a first come/first serve basis, with water and flush toilets available nearly year round.

Kyles Landing is located directly beside the beautiful Buffalo river, hardly a stone's throw from the cool refreshing water. With huge bluffs soaring over 400ft into the air, multiple hiking trails available, and access to the river itself, the campground is a perfect weekend getaway to get outside and go explore.

The campground itself has 3 different trails. One trail travels along the river bank and leads up the bluff onto a rock point with a stunning view of the surrounding area, another 3 mile trail leads to Hemmed-In-Hollow Falls, and another trail connects to the Buffalo River Trail.

While there, you can enjoy several challenging rock climbing routes, go cliff jumping off the bluffs into the water below (just make sure to check for underwater rocks!) or just sit back and relax while kayaking down the river.

Camp at Kyle's Landing Reviews

Kyle's Landing has it all. The only negative I would give is that it has become quite the popular camping spot. In nice weather it can be difficult to find an open camp spot. However, when you hit it right, you can spend a whole weekend there without ever getting bored. There are awesome swimming holes along the river, the hike up on top of the bluff is gorgeous, and there is plenty of wildlife in the area. I recently wrote an article on the Indian Creek to the Eye of the Needle hike, which is one of my favorites. If you have time and have done the hike, go give it a review to help get it on the map! Its one of my favorite hikes and I want others to be able to enjoy it as well.!

This is a great spot for a weekend with friends or family. Get there early for a campground spot, or take advantage of the awesome primitive spots scattered along the BRT and trail to Indian Creek. The trails also wind in and around the Buffalo, providing some awesome swimming spots. The road to Kyle's is steep, but definitely doable when it's dry. This is a great place to just hang out, explore, and swim in the river. Also, don't miss the Ozark Cafe in nearby Jasper. A great spot for some post-camping food and milkshakes.

This is one of the greatest campgrounds I've been to. My family and I have been camping here almost 20 years. The sites are amazing. The view is spectacular. I would caution you on the drive though. Once you turn on to the gravel road leading you to the campground it would be nice to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle as some hills are steep and gravel can be loose. Though I've made it up in small cars as well as trucks with only rear wheel drive.
