America's Outback: 6 Videos to Inspire You to Visit Southeast Oregon
Oregon's Outback has some of the last untouched land, canyons, deserts and rivers in the West.
When picturing Oregon, most think of the Cascades or the Columbia River Gorge. The truth is the vast majority of the state is sparsely populated high-desert aka "Oregon's Outback", but it is anything but empty.
The remote southeast corner of the state is a treasure trove of outdoor adventure jewels, from Alvord Hot Springs in the desolate Alvord Desert and the nearby glacier-carved Steens Mountain, to the wild and scenic Owyhee River and the remarkable Painted Canyon that will leave you feeling like you were in southern Utah. And these are just a handful of the adventures to be found.
Here are six of our favorite videos to inspire you to visit southeastern Oregon, and remember: go beyond Leave No Trace and leave these places better than you found them.
