Take the Boat Tour of Venecian Islands
Added by Amelia Walker
Cruise through the Venecian Lagoon to the unique and famous islands of Burano, Torcello, and Murano.
Begin your boat tour at the Venecian Lagoon just next to St. Mark's Square. The boat will take you to the three islands of Venice, each unique in its own way. Murano is world famous for its glass-blowing. Upon arrival to the island, you will get to watch a live demonstration of the glass blowing technique and then explore the shop there, which sells glass statues of every shape and creature imaginable. From there you will go to Torcello, a quaint island said to be the first settlement on the Lagoon. It is known for its ancient Byzantine churches, and has a lot more green space (and open space in general) than Venice proper. Lastly, travel to the colorfully vibrant island of Burano. The fisherman's houses are painted bright, vibrant colors, and this island also includes a famous lace-making store.
This tour was my favorite part of visiting Venice - the islands felt removed from the tourism of the main city and each had something special to define it. Don't miss this pleasant surprise of a trip!

It is a nice way to visit the islands, but I generally find it overly touristic. Definitely not as much as e gondola.

Great way to see Venice
This is a great way to see Venice and the surrounding islands. I really liked watching the glass blowers create sculptures in Murano and the colorful houses on Burano.

Great way to see Venice
Really enjoyed this! We got to see so much, and by my favorite mode of transport! Would recommend doing this over the gondolas.
