This is an easy, but scenic loop through a lush forest to a 70+ foot waterfall and viewpoint of Muckross Lake in Killarney National Park.
Starting at the Torc Waterfall parking lot off of the N71 road, follow the trail to the waterfall, which is only about a 4-5 minute walk from the road. This 70+ waterfall is surrounded by lush green vegetation as it tumbles over a few cascades.
Continuing up the stairs to the side of the waterfall, you will walk through the forest until you come to a view of Muckross Lake in the middle of a switchback.
You'll shortly come to a trail intersection at a stone bridge. Turn right here to continue on the yellow trail, and be sure to look out from the bridge to see the small waterfall upstream.
From here the trail follows a gravel road and you'll cross under the N71 road. Once you intersect the carriage road, turn right on the road and safely cross back over N71 to return to your car.
