Enjoy the scenic Dunes Succession Trail loop that starts with views of sand dunes and leads to a forested boardwalk and back out to the beach in Great Dunes National Park, IN.
This hike provides a great opportunity to explore the variable landscape and terrain in Indiana Dunes National Park.
From the parking lot head north on a paved walkway toward Lake Michigan's shoreline. Next, walk down the boardwalk to the beach. Once you reach the coast, you'll have amazing views of the Chicago Skyline. Head east along the beach until you reach the sign pointing toward the Succession Trail. Turn off the beach and continue the loop.
