Hike to Burden Falls

Illinois Burden Falls Trailhead

Added by The Outbound Collective

Hike to one of the tallest waterfalls in the state.

Located in the Shawnee National Forest, Burden Falls, though perhaps small by other standards, is among the highest in Illinois. There are many side trails to explore, making this a great spot for birders and photographers.

Pleasant Surprise

Definitely not what I thought it was going to be....it was beautiful regardless. Best time to go is after a really good rain.
