Description
Added by Mary Smith
Herrick Lake Trail is a gently-sloped wide gravel trail shared by walkers, bicyclists, and equestrians through prairie land, wooded areas, and small frog-filled ponds near Warrenville, IL.
This is an easy trail for beginners, with a packed gravel clearly-marked trail shared by walkers, runners, bicyclists, and even horses (the trail is next to Denada Equestrian Center). Gently sloping trails lead through prairie land, next to small ponds filled with singing frogs, some wooded areas, and a small lake offering concessions, boat rental, and fishing. The trails further from Lake Herrick are less crowded, so starting at the southwest end off of Naperville Road will suit those looking to avoid crowds. Hitting all legs of the looping trail totals about 8 miles, but it can be shortened easily for a shorter outing.

Herrick Lake Trail Reviews
Easy and well-marked paths with little shade, suggest dressing accordingly. The frogs singing were the best!
