Right off I-90, take a one-time lift pass ($8) and ski a lighter snow than the coastal mountains. A great way to stretch those legs on a ski road trip.

Climb the ridge and ski down to the valley into Montana. The views are amazing and we didn't see too many people out there since it's so close to the resort. Starting at the resort, ride the chair up to the top. Take a run down until you reach the ridge that goes along the Idaho and Montana Border. Skin through the trees up the ridge and go as far as you feel like climbing. There are trails you can reach if navigating correctly.

Climb until you find a line you want to ski. Ski down the valley and either traverse even elevation to the parking lot or find a cat track and skin out to the parking lot.
