Camp at Blue Lake
Details
Added by Mike Sanders
Distance: 2 miles round trip with amazing views of the valley if you hike above the lake. There are campsites around the lake with streams nearby. This is a great spot for night photography, fishing, and camping.
Blue Lake is a great spot to spend a night next to the lake but is also the perfect escape if you're looking to get away for just the day. The stars at night are worth the trip alone, as it's far away from light pollution. It gets a little windy sometimes but there is plenty of cover and trees to take shelter if need be.
You first park at the trailhead off of Cabarton Road. You then descend into the bowl of a valley and blue lake is right in the center. Small lake but peaceful and serene.

Leave a ReviewBeautiful but Heavily Used
This is a very popular trail and is heavily used. It is easy to see why it is so popular, the views on the drive up and throughout the hike are spectacular. The parking lot typically fills up relatively quick on weekends and in the summer so I would recommend going early or more in the off season. I was disappointed to see how much trash was left by people at the lake.

Absolutely amazing 😶
The drive is beautiful, the last 30-45 minutes are a dirt road but it’s well kept and my Hyundai Elantra handled it just fine. The trailhead was obvious, the hike can be a little rocky and steep but it’s not bad at all. But the views... it was so serene. Absolutely the best spot I’ve found to date. It’s just a little lake and wasn’t too busy. 100% recommend this spot

Quick Hike With A Nice View
This is a family friendly hike. It's only about a mile in which makes it quick to get to the lake. Lots of fish so bring a pole!
