Description
Added by Sophia Morgan
Mount Kaʻala Trail is a tough out-and-back hike in the Waiʻanae Mountains, up Oʻahu’s highest peak at 4,025 feet. It’s steep, rugged, and often muddy, with rope sections and some scrambling.
The trail climbs through dense forest and exposed ridgelines before reaching a unique cloud forest at the summit. On a clear day, you get views across the island. Bring good grip shoes, plenty of water, and be ready for a challenge.
Dogs are not permitted on this trail.
Warning:
The trail head is in a high theft area, so lock doors and don’t leave valuables visible in your car.
