Tucked at the east end of Poʻipū Beach Park on Kauai’s sunny south shore, Brennecke’s Beach is beloved by locals and visitors for its consistent waves, fun boogie-boarding, body surfing, and picturesque coastal vibe.

Unlike a forested trail, the “trail” to Brennecke’s is a short walkway or sandy path from parking or Poʻipū Park toward the water. Take that little stretch, and you’re rewarded with rolling surf, lava rock edges, and a more relaxed beach scene.

Distance & Difficulty: Very short walk from nearby parking or Poʻipū Beach Park — essentially beach access with minimal elevation or trail complexity.
Surf & Water Conditions: Known for dependable shore break and playful waves that favor boogie boarding and body surfing.

This is a big beach park. There are large grassy areas with trees that are perfect to hammock in. There are also many picnic tables. The are two sides to the beach, with one side being very kid-friendly. The waves can crash very hard into the rocks and create a lot of spray. There are little tide pools to explore, but always be careful of incoming waves.
