Po'ipu Beach
Koloa, Hawaii
Description
Added by Elena P
A beautiful beach on the south shore of Kauai.
This is a big beach park. There are large grassy areas with trees that are perfect to hammock in. There are also many picnic tables. The are two sides to the beach, with one side being very kid-friendly.
The waves can crash very hard into the rocks and create a lot of spray. There are little tide pools to explore, but always be careful of incoming waves.

Po'ipu Beach Reviews
Poʻipu Beach is such a great spot for a family sunset. We came with the kids and it was easy to hang out, enjoy the views, and watch the colors change over the water. The highlight was definitely the turtles that come up onto the beach at sunset. The area is roped off to give them space, but you can still see them really well without disturbing them—such a cool experience for the kids (and adults!). The beach has a shower and bathrooms nearby, which made it convenient after swimming and playing in the sand. Just a heads-up: parking gets pretty crowded around sunset, so it’s worth arriving a little earlier if you can. Overall, an awesome mix of family-friendly beach time and a memorable wildlife experience. 🌅🐢

Stopped hear after leaving the airport. Had never been to the south of Kauai before so this was a great stop. The beach and town were both great.

Our condo was near this beach so we came here often. Beautiful area that’s somewhat sheltered, but be careful of the rocks. I ended up cutting my foot, so just look out!

I don’t think a bad beach exists on Kauai! This one is beautiful! Plus it’s in a fun town/city to explore!
