Keep in mind, Lake Hartwell is expansive! Get ready for a workout as this lake is shared with motor boats too which can make for some fun waves. There are lots of cool exposed rock, herons, turtles, and more. Afterward, relax in the day use beach area that is complete with several picnic tables, a pavilion, and a concessions hut!
Bring your own kayak/SUP or rent from the park for a minimal fee (though rental options are slim and not well-maintained).
Kayak Launch & Location:
The park features a designated kayak and canoe launch located directly next to the visitor center, offering easy access to the lake. The launch area is beginner-friendly with a gentle shoreline entry and nearby parking for convenience.
