What Makes This Section Special

Starting at the Coots Lake Beach Trailhead, this western segment offers a more remote, peaceful feel compared to busier parts of the trail closer to Atlanta. The path winds gently through wooded corridors, open fields, and over Thompson Creek, offering great spots to pause, birdwatch, or simply take in the natural surroundings.

Unlike some of the flatter, urban sections of the Silver Comet, this portion includes a few gentle hills, making it a popular stretch for riders and runners who enjoy a bit more variety and elevation.
