Visit Bartolome Island

This is one of the most popular day tours from Puerto Aroyo on Santa Cruz Island. You'll get picked up from your hostel (or meet at your tour agency) around 6:30 or 7 in the morning, and then drive across to the north part of Santa Cruz. There you'll board your boat for a cruise over to Bartolome Island. Depending on the speed of your boat, this will be 2 or 3 hours. At Bartolome, you'll have the chance to climb the steps up the to the top of this volcanic island and enjoy the sweeping view. After walking back down, you'll snorkel in the nearby bay, where you can see sea turtles, colorful fish, sea lions, sharks, and if you're lucky, penguins! After lunch on the boat, you'll head back to Santa Cruz with a day well spent.
