A one way scenic road that overlooks the beautiful Canon City and surrounding country making you feel like you are truly in the sky.
Skyline drive is a one way scenic roadway mainly going north to south. The 3 mile drive takes you about 800 feet above Cañon City. It starts on the west side of 50, and ends in a residential neighborhood southwest of where it begins.
There are multiple pull offs on the right and left side of the road that can accompany 3-4 cars each. The first pull off on the left of the road has multiple trails connected to it with great views. There is a permanent map of the trails on this pull off as well.
Watch out for locals as they tend to take this road as a scenic hike or to walk their dogs.
Drive slow and enjoy the rest of the 3 mile scenic road - it ends quicker than expected!
To get back on 50, turn right on any street and follow it back to the main road. Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh street are the first three streets you will meet up with.
