A great workout with gorgeous views of Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins, and the Front Range.
The Reservoir Ridge and Foothills trail system around Horsetooth Reservoir and Fort Collins is excellent for mountain biking, trail running, and hiking. During the winter it is particularly great for fat tire mountain biking, and the Foothills Trail is one of the best.
The trail itself is roughly a 8.5 mile point to point from the parking area at N. Overland Drive and Headwater Drive up and along the ridge overlooking the Reservoir down to the parking areas at either Banyan Drive or Dixon Canyon Road near the stadium in the Maxwell Natural Area. There are several other parking areas along the trail allowing riders to shorten the trip.
Further, the trail itself connects into several other systems including the Pineridge Natural Area.

EPIC
Nothing like bombing around the front-range overlooking Horsetooth and Fort Collins. A must-do in winter.
