Description

Twin Lakes is a nice place to take your boat of choice with views of Mount Elbert and the surrounding mountains.

Twin Lakes are two bodies of water that are connected by a short run of water with a dam at the eastern end. There are a few different places to put in your boat including boat ramps by the access point on the east end of the lake. There is also a boat ramp and a place to seasonally rent boats by the White Star Campground.

You can boat in both of the large lakes and you can spend hours exploring the beaches. Down by the dam, there are different water channels you can explore. Weather can come at you fast over the mountains so be prepared to bail fast and have gear to handle the weather if needed. The wind can also be quite strong and cold in the middle of the lake depending on the time of year.
