Hike to Laguna Verde

The hike starts at the official parking lot at 3600m altitude. From here you start your hike and walk 6km uphill winding through the hills up to 4000m altitude. At the highest point, you can find a lonely tent where you can buy Agua de Panela and cheese if you need to warm up (these are two things that seem to go together in Colombia).

After the tent, the muddy path goes steep downhill for about 700m to reach the green lagoon. You might not be able to see it right away, just give it a couple of minutes and the it will reveal itself. Enjoy the great views and colors of the lagoon that seem to change with the clouds coming into the valley

Once you soaked in the views, just hike the same way back that you came.

Please be aware that the weather is naturally very cloudy and rainy on this hike. Dress appropriately and start the hike early in the day for the best chances to catch a nice view at the lagoon.
