Hike and Swim at Balneario Pescaderito

5 Miles Total - 328.1 ft gain - Out-and-Back Trail

Originally added by Friederike Kosche

Enjoy a relaxed stroll along this amazing river. You can also jump and swim in one of the many swimming holes along the path.

The start of this hike is ~2 miles from the city center of Curiti. Once you get to the start of the hike, you will see the first swimming hole (and you might see some locals playing around here).

You will start walking on the right side of the river where you can see a small path leading up and continuing up to the next spot along the river. You can extend this hike for as long as you wish, taking a break wherever you like, and then jump into one of the many swimming pools (be careful and check the water depth before).

If you crave a beverage or food, there is a small camping area and shop next to the start of the hike. Nothing fancy, but they have the Colombian basics.

Awesome local spot

We walked from the bus stop at the village square in Curiti, although there are many tuk tuk drivers that will offer to take you down to the swimming holes. We ended up catching a ride back up to Curiti with some locals. Great spot, we were the only travelers around. Grab a few beers and enjoy the water!
