Anchorage Provincial Park is a beautiful croissant shape harbour on the Island of Grand Manan. Its windy beach is perfect for a morning run, some whale-watching time or an afternoon nap.

The provincial Park of Anchorage sets by the Bay of Fundy in the southern part of the Island of Grand Manan, in New Brunswick. It's a natural bird sanctuary, has a beautiful coastline and few trails featuring many interpretative display about geology, wetlands, and the island wildlife.

To get to the beach, instead of entering the park on Anchorage Road turn left on Long Pond Road. Park in any of the designated areas on Long Pond Road. You will find picnic tables and access to the trails. We suggest you head to the beach.

The beach in Anchorage Park is windy, but it's a perfect place to have lunch on a blanket facing the ocean. The bay of Fundy is super refreshing, but the tides are strong, so swim with extreme caution if you dare enter the water. From the comfort of the beach, you can keep an eye out for whales, seals, and seabirds.

The coastline of the park is also part of the Grand Manan hiking trails circuit. It is a beautiful area to try a 4 k run on the beach, out and back from the rest area to Ox Head point at the east end of the park. Some parts of the coastline are more challenging with a lot of pointy rocks, so a good pair of running shoes is needed.
