This scenic lake is a short drive outside the town of Jasper, in Alberta, Canada. If you're looking for a quick drive outside of town for stunning views, this one's for you!
To get to Patricia Lake from Jasper, from highway 16A, turn onto Connaught Drive. Stay straight for 10 minutes and run right into Patricia and Pyramid Lakes! Drive the 4.8km loop day or night for an opportunity to see moose, elk, and wolves. Also, there are plenty of hiking trails in this area.
Jasper is the world's most accessible dark sky preserve and the amount of stars are proof! Go at 2-3AM during the summer. Have a look at the northern lights forecast and soak it all in.

We will never forget this night. Check the forecast and arrive around midnight. Give yourself at least 2 hours. Also, prepare to brave the crowds, during the summer months at least. A few groups came and left. We waited it out and got a glimpse of the magic!

Unreal!
This was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. There were photographers lined up all around the lake. It's an amazing location to capture the northern lights.
