Great walking loop around the Woolwich Reservoir. Perfect for a leisurely stroll, family friendly!

One of the many entrances to the Lions Lake Trail can be found at the Crystal View Mennonite Church (marked on the map). The trail loops the Woolwich Reservoir and passes through tall trees, the Woolwich Dam, and through a local sugar bush.

On the north-east side of the lake you can choose to take the right fork through the sugar bush, or left to continue around the lake. The left trail makes the loop a little over 5 km, the right trail makes the loop 7 km.

This trail is family and dog friendly with a few lookout benches perfect for an afternoon picnic. After you're finished, head over to Elmira for a bite to eat or to pick up some local maple syrup!

Stroll the Lions Lake Trail Reviews

Local here, main entrance is off Reid Wood Drive, and can easily be found if you google "Woolwich dam and resivior" once in the parking lot turn left towards the woods (big opening easily spotted), or to the right towards the dam. From Nov-May, you will have to walk down the drive, but there are several parking spots at that gate as well.

Tricky to find but an awesome spot
