About this place

Added by Eric Yang

This 2.3 km family-friendly, loop trail about an hour drive away from Toronto takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This should take 1-2 hours (depending on the group size)

This is probably one of my all-time favorite short hikes to do in Ontario during the fall. The hikes takes you to a breathtaking, panoramic view of the Niagara Escarpment that is blazed with fall colors. This family-friendly lookout trail should provide a very little challenge for older family members and young children. Once you park your car at the main parking lot, walk a short way up and you'll see a sign marking the start of the trail.

Once you start on the trail, you can see why its so family-friendly. It's a well-maintained trail with a balanced amount of shade. Once you hit a dead-end in your trail, you will reach the Brock Harris Lookout. Take a break, take in the beautiful view and make sure to take tons of photos. You will be able to take in a beautiful panoramic view of the escarpment. It is truly a breathtaking view. On a clear day, you might be able to see the CN Tower using your binoculars.

I would recommend the trail on the left for intermediate hikers looking for a longer walk to appreciate nature. The North Loop Trail takes you to a higher elevation and is a great place to chill with friends or family. The trail takes you into a deeper part of the forest where the beauty of nature can really be felt.

However, I would not recommend the trail on the right because the view of the Niagara Escarpment is all the same but from different angles.

In all, Mount Nemo is a perfect, peaceful sanctuary for a nature walk during any season in the year.
