Soak up the sun on this ocean beach.
On the Cabot trail there are many beautiful spots. This beach offers less people than some of the larger beaches. It also has a little waterfall to explore!!
To get here just turn off the Cabot Trail and park your car down by the beach, then you're good to go.

Hike Franey Mountain
If you find yourself driving the Cabot Trail around Cape Breton, you can't miss out on the hike up to Franey Mountain. From the Cabot Trail, you will find the trailhead for Franey Mountain just north of the Clyburn River. Take a turn off onto Franey Road and follow it for about 1km to the parking lot. This trail is a loop, and is steep and rugged at times. It's well groomed at the beginning...
Camping at Meat Cove
Some friends and I recently rode our motorcycles up to Cape Breton where our final destination was Meat Cove. It's the northern most point accessible by motor vehicle. In the morning we hiked to a scenic cliff side and were welcomed warmly by friendly staff. We spent the day at the private beach and riding around the dirt roads. It's an incredibly secluded area so be sure to bring enough suppli...
Hike Cape Breton's Skyline Trail
About 1,330 feet atop the French Mountain along Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail lies the Skyline Trail, a secluded and serene hiking trail which will lead you to jaw-dropping views of both the Cabot Trail itself as well as the Gulf of St. Lawrence. What begins as a seemingly benign, well-manicured trail soon turns into a stunning and tranquil wilderness landscape where hikers can spot bear, moose, co...
Motorcycling the Cabot Trail
The Cabot Trail weaves among four different bodies of water, including the Atlantic, making for incredibly scenic riding. Be very cautious of wildlife and holding your line. Some turns have gravely inside corners, but are otherwise beautiful. There are minimal gas stations along this route, some of which run out of gas, so pack an auxiliary tank. A proper motorcycle inspection is necessary for s...
Hike to the top of the Big Hill in Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine
Entry Island (l’Île d'Entrée) is one of the 9 islands of Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine. It's only 3 km-wide and is the only inhabited island with no road access with the rest of the archipelago. The only ways to reach the small community would be by boat or by plane. It's the home of fewer than 100 people, many cows, and a few dogs. It has a beach, a small restaurant, a wharf, a grocery store, a chu...
