About this place

Added by Kyle Szegedi

This quick and easy hike (walk) leads to this picturesque lake in Jasper National Park. Make sure to get your shot of the most prominent mountain in Alberta reflecting on the lake. Distance: 1km (0.6 miles) roundtrip. Elevation loss: 10m (35 ft).

The hike down to the lake is relatively short, less than .5km each way. Once to the shore of the lake, soak in the amazing views of the reflection of the most prominent mountain in Alberta! Edith Cavell Mt. is the tallest mountain in Alberta at 3,364 meters (11,033 feet).

Getting there: Drive south of Jasper on the Icefields Parkway (Hwy 93), past the park gate. At 7km turn right on Hwy 93a. Follow 93a for 5.5km and turn right on the Edith Cavell Road. Follow the road for 13km until you reach a pulloff/parking lot near the lake.

This was a superb spot on a fall morning this year. I was alone for sunrise and only saw a few others later.
