Canoe Quetico Provincial Park
Ely, Minnesota
Description

Fantastic week-long trip right across the Minnesota border. Fishing, canoeing, and camping all in one trip.
Starting at Williams & Hall outfitters on Moose Lake outside of Ely, MN, we were brought to the U.S.-Canada border with our canoes and gear. We spent five remarkable days in the Canadian backcountry, detached from modern distractions and engaged with nature, paddling across crystal clear lakes, fishing for our food, and enjoying good company. We portaged from lake to lake, some far apart, some with merely a conoe-length stretch of land separating them. We had more adventures then one can count, from catching every major species of fish (largemouth & smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, and lake trout), to cliff jumping, to exploring a waterfall. The spectacular fishing and the magnificence of Louisa Falls on Agnes Lake are can't-miss experiences. The feeling of isolation and remoteness is overpowering and awe-inspiring; it provokes the primal instinct of a man and tunes him to the world around him, making him realize everything is tied together. This trip will make you experience nature in a completely new way, for in every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.
