Hike the Saturday Night Loop

Canada Saturday Night Loop

Added by

The Saturday Night Loop is a really fun and challenging trail, if you only have a few days in Jasper. It’s short, pretty and you can bike, hike, fish and/or ride on it. It is also one of the very few overnight trips in Jasper that loops around, beginning and ending in the same location.

The trail is split up into three types of terrain: one-third uphill, one-third rugged, and one-third downhill. Begin at Cabin Creek Rd parking lot and follow Trailhead #3.

If you plan on mountain biking the trail, most people do it in a day. If you happen to want to take longer or are hiking it, then there are three backcountry campgrounds available: Saturday Night Lakes, High Lakes, and Minnow Lakes.

Reservation are recommended, which you can make at the Jasper Visitor’s Center or by calling the Trail Office at 780-852-6177.

How to Get There

One of the only loops in Jasper

Great 3 day hike through Jasper National Park, where you can hike, bike and fish. One of the only places you can leave your car and return to in a full loop.

Make the trek down Hwy. 40 (about 33 km’s) to the trail head - Galatea Day Use Area. It’s very easy to find, as this is one of Kananaskis most popular day hikes.

Chester Lake was officially one of my favorite hikes of 2016. It's a short & sweet 5 km's to the lake, with outstanding views in every direction.
