Paddle Lower Sardine Lake
Sierra City, California
Description
Added by Andy
A beautiful alpine lake in the Sierra Buttes.
Lower Sardine Lake is a short drive from Sardine Lakes Campground. It has crystal clear water and is a very smooth place to paddle. This is also a popular fishing and kayaking spot. There are many fallen trees in the lake and a couple rocks that come up almost to the surface. The water in generally cold, but is swimmable during the summer months.
There is a small parking lot and a bathroom near the entrance to the lake.

Paddle Lower Sardine Lake Reviews
Lower Sardine lake has boats for rent for a half day, the boat shop opens at 8 i think. You can hear the waterfall on the far side of the lake, stunning views no matter where you look, lots of humming birds too.
5.0
Both upper and lower sardine lakes are great fishing/hiking/etc. Once you get to upper sardine, the tree lines fade away to nothing but rock formations. Prepare for high heat in the summertime.
