Description

Added by Shaneil Weaver

The Lake George Loop is perfect for exploring the shoreline and fishing near the top of the Mammoth Lakes wilderness. The lake can get quite cold due to the elevation and surrounding mountains not allowing the sun to hit it for an extended time, but if you go during mid-day you should have a refreshing dip. If you plan to walk around the entire lake be prepared to maneuver through some brush and trees on the west side.

Lake George Trail Reviews

We visited this lake at the beginning of Oct. so a coat was necessary to block out the cold wind. Cabins line the shore on the east side with access to some rock climbing areas nearby. If you are feeling adventurous, there is an almost too-perfect rock cliff nestled above a deep water portion of the lake you can launch off of during the warmer summer days.
