Spanning approximately 3.83 miles, the loop offers a variety of terrain, including forested areas, open meadows, and rocky outcrops. The trail is well-marked and maintained, making it suitable for hikers of all skill levels. One of the key features of this trail is the panoramic view it offers from the top. Hikers can see the Russian River, the Pacific Ocean, and the surrounding countryside. The trail also passes by a small lake, providing an opportunity for bird watching and wildlife spotting. Islands in the Sky Vista Loop Reviews

Islands in the sky vista loop is just off highway 116 in Duncans Mills. I did the loop counterclockwise. The trail was still a little muddy single track. On the route up, the trail had good end of the day sun. At the top, unfortunately the fog had rolled in, so there wasn't a great view. Completing the loop was easier than the start as it was a fire road on the way down.
