Description

Pierce Canyon is an easy/moderate beautiful and accessible hiking trail with a wonderful array of wildflowers in the spring!

This hike follows a fire road through some farms, up into the woods and up the ridge. It's an accessible and easy trail, with some decent incline starting about halfway through (thus the "moderate" rating instead of easy).

Park at the end of the road before the gate. (There is a sign that says to park in front of the sign to not block traffic -- please adhere to this!).  The gate used to have a set of stairs over it, but they burned down in a recent fire. You can just hop the fence.

Follow the road and it'll take you right down into the woods! You will pass some farms, then it'll look more like a trail that follows along a creek. There are lots of wildflowers in the spring. There is a bridge about 1.5miles in and then the trail starts to incline. There are a number of switchbacks.

The hike is 3.2 miles from parking to the waterfall.  You can keep going along the road if you like. There is a sign that points to the waterfall off to the right side of the trail.  I sat on the side of the trail and had a picnic :)  It's another 3.2 miles back to where you parked for a total of 6.4 miles.

[Note: when I went in March 2021, the waterfall was dry and not running! but in theory it's normally there... perhaps too early in the year?]
