Laguna Beach Caves are beautiful caves with blue, clear water. This place is free to visit, but please exercise caution and adhere to local updates, rules, and closures!

Explore some beautiful caves right on the beach in Laguna. The stairs leading down to Thousand Setps Beach are just off the side of PCH at 9th st. You can park anywhere along the PCH on both sides near 9th st.

Head down the stairs and the main caves are on the left. To the right there are also some small caves that are cool for photos. It's super easy to find. It's also an awesome place to take a date and watch the sunset. The rocks can be a little rough to walk on barefoot so it would be good to have some sandals with straps or something that can get wet and protect your feet.

Note:
This area may be closed due to tide or a large, incoming swell. Be sure to check the tide and swell conditions before visiting.

Laguna Beach Caves Reviews

Exactly as the description says...amazingly clear water, little nooks and crannies to explore and at sunset, this place is magic. Bring a snack, a blanket, and pick up any trash on the way out.

The caves are now off limits to people. Lifeguard said too many people have gotten hurt/died visiting them. Hefty fine if you try.

Perfect beach to take in the views. Great whale watching and cool cave to explore.

This adventure is one for the books!! Recommend bringing shorts and towels if you really want to explore the area during high tides. Had a blast climbing the rocks, hiking the stairs, and taking photos in the cave. Wonderful spot to relax.

This is my new favorite beach in the Southern California area. Just make sure to go during low tide if you want to explore the caves! Otherwise it's pretty dangerous. The waves are gnarly in this area.

So my boyfriend and I decided to to do this today thinking it was more of a hike but received some misinformation from one of our mutual friends. I wouldn't recommend this escapade for somebody wanting a full on sweaty hike, it's more suited for a relaxing romp in the waves. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic time! The walk down to the beach was great and we had a super time frolicking around in the surf while exploring some pretty neat caves and mossy tide pools. We also had the joy of witnessing one of the most incredible sunsets I have seen yet!! Kudos Laguna beach for a memorable day.
