Description

Added by Tyler Drake

Bodega Dunes Beach is located through the same entrance as Bodega Dunes Campground. There is a fee to enter the parking area for day use, but you can also access it without payment if you have a CA State Parks Pass.

From the parking area heading toward the beach, you will see two picnic areas with grills and two restrooms. As you follow along the path, you will walk up through one dune to a walkway leading down to the beach. The walkway is under repair, so there is a short jump down from the end of it to the beach. If you prefer not to jump, you can walk directly down the dune underneath the walkway to the beach.

This beach is family-friendly, as you'll see plenty of wagons being pulled down to the beach with chairs, coolers, games, and more. However, this is an exposed beach break, so definitely keep an eye on the kiddos as they get close to the water. There are no stores or restaurants at the beach. If you're coming from Bodega Bay, make sure you stop in town for any last minute supplies you may need.

Dogs are not permitted at the beach.

Bodega Dunes Beach Reviews

We made a family trip here during the holiday weekend. The entrance is a little further off HWY 1, which may have played a part in it being less crowded + the fee to access the state beach/campground. This was a great family spot with plenty of other fams bringing their wagons and sun shades. Definitely recommend it!
