Ride the Kuranda Scenic Train in Australia
Kuranda, Queensland
Description
Added by Laura Hill
It’s not every day that you get to explore a World Heritage-Listed rainforest that’s millions of years old!
Experience beautiful waterfalls, lush greenery and explore the village of Kuranda at the end of the trip (so many cute shops and places for delicious food & snacks). Truly, a unique and beautiful experience.
When visiting the village, you can also stop at Tjapukai – the website shared that “Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is the most awarded Aboriginal cultural attraction in Australia and is credited with enhancing reconciliation locally, nationally and internationally. Tjapukai showcases the culture of the rainforest people of Tropical North Queensland.” It’s a wonderful and educational experience!
The railway runs from Cairns to Kuranda (map here) and is such a fun way to see the unique rainforest scenery.
