Description

Added by Outbound

The trail to Hanging Garden provides scenic desert views, and ends at a natural spring. The hike is a rewarding 1.4 miles out and back.

The alcove hosting the Hanging Garden is filled with abundant plant life, somewhat of a desert oasis. The view to the north of Hanging Garden is amazing - featuring distant landmarks of the Wahweap area. Watch for poison ivy!

The trailhead is on the east side of the Glen Canyon Dam a little over 1 mile from the Carl Hayden Visitor Center. If driving from the Visitor Center turn left on the first graveled road that you come to after crossing the dam. The turnoff is marked with a hiker sign. The parking area is a short distance down the road.

This is one of very few hikes in the area which allow dogs. Its a nice little hike for anyone. Very easy and good views.

Neat hanging gardens, short hike. Had to use map a few times as it was hard to see which way the trail went
