See Canyon is a heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Payson, Arizona.
See Canyon Trail #184 is a 7.6 mile trail in the Tonto National Forest that features a creek and spring. This trail is most popular during the fall when the leaves begin to change color and fall along the creek.
The trail runs from the parking lot up to FS 300 above the rim. The trail starts off easy going with very little elevation gain. It doesn't become difficult until the last mile going up to FS 300. At 1.5 miles in, you will come to a junction to either continue straight up to the forest road or to turn and hike to the spring only a half mile away. The half mile to the spring and back is calculated into the 7.6 miles round-trip mileage. If doing the full hike, it's recommended to stop here for a break on your way back down from FS 300. Many people choose to only hike to the spring and back leaving out the section to the top of the rim.
Please remember if you pack it in, pack it out and practice leave no trace principles.

One of my favorite fall hikes. The trees through this area are always beautiful as they change color. Be sure to explore the area surrounding the spring.
