Baby Bell Rock

At roughly a 1 mile loop, the Bell hike is a short but very sweet hike with high reward, it's an amazing spot to sit an watch the sun dip below the horizon and if you're lucky, may even have the view to yourself.

Accessing the hike is best started at the Bell Rock Parking lot, if you're heading there for sunset chances are there will be available parking, as everyone is typically done for the day. Should you venture here earlier in the day, be prepared to hunt for parking as it's a popular spot with a limited number of spaces.

The trail is easy to moderate, with a small amount of scrambling to reach the summit, if you plan on being here for sunset, ensure you have a headlamp for the twilight descent.

To get to the main Baby Bell trail, you'll need to follow the Phone Trail from the parking lot trailhead, continue on past the Bell Rock junction (which merges with the Bell Rock Trail), and finally make a right at the next junction which is the Baby Bell Trail. Note all of these trails are well marked and easy to find.

A short distance along the Baby Bell trail and you'll see a smaller unmarked trail off to your right, this is the beginning of the small steep section and minor scramble to the summit.

Look for cairns along the way, as the unmarked trail plateaus a little before reaching the rocky, but easily traversed summit.

We arrived late in the afternoon, and literally had the place to ourselves, that's because everyone's aiming for the nearby (and equally stunning) Bell Rock.  Note the Bell Rock trail has a higher viewpoint, but you don't have a view of Cathedral Rock from its upper ledges.  If you have time I'd recommend hiking both trails for different viewpoints across the landscape.
