Photograph Perito Moreno Glacier
Details
Added by Christin Healey
One of the most incredible glaciers in Patagonia to visit due to its size and accessibility. Boardwalks to view the southern face of the glacier, and you can also just sit and listen to the ruptures that occur frequently due to the pressure from the weight of the ice.
From the town of El Calafate in Argentina, the glacier is less than two hours away down route 15. There are easy signs the entire way. You will then reach the park entrance, where you will pay roughly $20SUSD/per person for entrance. About 20 minutes from the park entrance, you will reach the parking lot for the glacier. From here, there are many different angles to shoot the face of the glacier from the boardwalk, or you can sign up for a mini trekking tour to actually walk on the ice. If you can catch a moment with the ice crashing into the sea, even better!

The Perito Moreno glacier is absolutely breathtaking and is an absolute must-see. You can spend a whole day walking all of the boardwalks from the car park to the glacier and photographing it from different points. It's definitely worth being patient and just waiting in some spots for a while in the hope that you'll capture some of the ice breaking off and crashing into the water.

Hear the cracks
I dont think I can describe the experience in a comment. The sheer size of the glacier is unbelievable and the sounds from the movement of the ice and the breaking of pieces is thrilling - as if you are witnessing an earthquake!
