Enjoy a relatively quick hike to western panoramic views of Lago Nahuel Huapi and mountain peaks of Bariloche while hiking to Cerro Llao Llao.
One of the best spots in Bariloche to watch the sunset, this hour-long hike uphill will be highly rewarding. It's a not the least bit commercialized like some of the other hilltop views in Bariloche like Cerro Campanario, but the trail is very well maintained and easy to follow. The panoramic view from the top is very peaceful and you might find yourself sitting up there for hours since there is so much to see in the fantastic mountain peaks that line the horizon.
If exploring Bariloche by bus, you can take the number 20 bus to Puerto Pañuelo then walk 2km along Avenida Bustillos to the Cerro Llao Llao trailhead. If traveling by car, you can park right by the trailhead, located on the right side of the road if driving south.
The hike should take no more than an hour from bottom to top, but it is pretty much straight uphill the entire way so you can plan on the way down being much quicker. Although the trail is easy to follow, there are plenty of rocks and roots sticking out of the ground so watch your step. You will know when you've reached the top once you see the radio tower on your left side. The trail goes about 100 meters further and there are some great lookout spots at the very end.
