Tucked into the high desert hills just outside Beatty, Nevada, the Spicer Ranch Trail System delivers fast, flowy riding paired with wide-open views. Purpose-built for mountain bikers, this growing network of trails offers fun, approachable rides that still feel adventurous and wild.

Trail Type: Loop options and interconnected routes. Surface: Packed dirt and desert singletrack. Difficulty: Beginner to intermediate, with optional progression. Best Time to Visit: Spring and fall for cooler temps; early mornings recommended in summer.

The trails at Spicer Ranch are thoughtfully designed to balance flow and scenery, making them great for newer riders while still keeping experienced bikers entertained. Expect smooth turns, gentle climbs, and just enough elevation change to keep things interesting - all set against a backdrop of rugged Nevada landscapes and expansive skies.

Maps can get a little wonky here once you turn off the highway and get on the property, but you just need to follow the signs to the parking and camping areas - it’s obvious and hard to miss.

Parking: Available at designated trailhead areas. Facilities: Limited amenities—plan to be self-sufficient.
Permits/Fees:
No permits or fees required to ride.
Are Dogs Allowed:
Dogs are typically allowed if kept under control, but conditions may vary. Call before you go.
What to Bring:
- Plenty of water and sun protection
- A helmet and basic bike repair kit
- Snacks for longer rides
- Layers. Weather can change quickly in the desert

If you’re looking for an uncrowded mountain biking destination with smooth trails, scenic desert terrain, and a laid-back vibe, Spicer Ranch is a standout in southern Nevada’s growing outdoor scene.
