Easily accessed lake near Mountain Home.
Because of the altitude of the this lake, the road to it doesn't open up until mid to late July. You can still get to the lake, but it is a 6 mi round trip hike down a dusty dirt road. It gets old. When the road is open, you can drive right up to the lake.
To get there, right before the town of Featherville, turn left on to Trinity Mountain Road. This is a dirt road. From here it is about 20 miles to the lake. Follow this road all the way to the lake. You will make one right turn and then at the fork, a left turn. All of these turns are easy to follow and have signs. The lake area has campsites you can pay for, bathrooms, pic-nic sites, and plenty of area to walk around. This is a great place to bring the family to relax for the day. You can fish, hike, explore, really just do whatever.
