Description

Added by Maria Gigliello

This secluded beach is the perfect spot to stay cool during an Adirondack summer.

Located across from the Ampersand Mountain trailhead on NY Route 3, a trail will take you a short walk (about a half mile) to this beautiful, quiet beach on the shores of Middle Saranac Lake. Starting at the trailhead, you will continue along an unmarked but clear footpath that trails through the forest until you come upon a designated camping and picnic area. Once you see the camping area and a few outhouses, you are there! The beach is about a half mile long and there is plenty of space to spread out and make yourself comfortable. The water that meets the beach is still quite shallow, but you can reach the beach by boat as well.

For more information on the Saranac Lake Islands, you can contact the park at (518) 891-2841.
